ABOUT

Ty Wilcox grew up on a farm near Dallas, Texas, where his childhood was abundant with adolescent troublemaking. Whether it was joyriding in his father’s jeep down the country road with a cloud of dust following close behind, taping towels/pads on and playing full contact football in the living room 4 yard field or taking people on snipe hunts, Wilcox proudly remembers raising hell along side his older brother and sister who fondly called him “Toast”.

While loosely following in the footsteps of his father, who owned a commercial printing business, Wilcox discovered his passion for the fine art of printmaking while attending Texas State University. He continued this passion for printmaking as he worked to complete his graduate studies at the University of North Texas. This passion continues today.

Wilcox is currently residing in San Antonio, Texas where he teaches printmaking and other mediums. After watching artist and printmaker, Richard Duardo, give a demo, Wilcox was inspired to host his own demos to introduce students to screen printing. Wilcox invited Duardo to co-host several demos at the college where he works – an annual tradition Wilcox continues to this today.

In his personal life, Wilcox enjoys traveling (and visiting zoos along the way), exploring the great outdoors, and working on his classic car. He is married with two fur pups, Wyatt Colt and Bailey Duke.
